Currently building a 350 to go in a clinker with a timing case end dog clutch.
Iím relocating the helm to the back of the boat and want to run extractors over the side.
So no logs for pre heating water.
I am planning on running a open raw water cooling system with a thermo control unit .
My questions are will the flow of cold raw water make the thermostat open and close so often it might as well not be there?
Secondly,Iím running alloy heads and was wondering if itís absolutely necessary to drill and tap the back of the Aís is common practice with cast iron heads or would it be ok to use the two water take offs on the inlet manifold either side of the dizzy to run water back to the thermo control unit and not have to worry about steam pockets in the heads ??
