    Default Plumbing

    hi everyone
i have just purchased a boat it's a camero Nordic with a 350 chev mid mount direct drive
it has raw water flowing thru the manifolds and a heat exchange
the heat exchange flows thru a closed circuit the block the heads and has a reservoir tank

i have tried to draw it as best I can
what I'm asking is is it correct or is there a better way

I have not included filters, one way valves and such basically I'm wanting the plumbing checked

    thanks

I don't have any experience with closed loop systems, but one thing that stands out to me is in your drawing, you have a two raw water pickups but only one goes to the pump. I would have thought you should have a Y fitting and both raw water pickups feed the pump.
Have you pulled raw water pipes and flushed them to make sure they have been put on correctly? ie all raw water going in comes out?

    Thanks for the reply
I thought the same thing it seemed odd to me
I thought a y piece going to the pump and a y piece coming out back to the exchanger

But no I haven't pulled the exchanger apart yet to see if it's correct ...... In/out

If it was me just checking it over, I would pull the outlet going into the s-bends and then put the hose on each exchanger inlet.
If water comes out both you know it's all good.
If it only comes out one side then try the other inlet and see if it is a fuel circuit (I doubt it but could be wrong).
If you wanted to improve it, I would check with another camero, or even the manufacturers and see how it should be.

The raw water should be running through the exhaust manifolds first to warm the raw water fed to the exchanger to keep the engine from running too cold !!
