    Default painting body deadener?

    hi everyone,

me and my mate have nirly finnished working on the gemini boot, all the tin sheeting is up and we've fiberglassed and bogged it all up, we went over the entire boot in body deadener and we're about to start with the primer, im just curious to know if we can paint over the body deadener stuff too.

also does anyone have any suguestions on how to blend the tin sheeting and fibergalss into the floorpan, im just worried thatthey might complain when we go for a roadworthy.

you cant paint over body deadener normally, cause it is like bituman based, and paint wont stick at all, and if you paint it , the black colour will bleed throu, so it will look yuk!. although if you were to used stone guard(waterbased) you can paint over it nicely, its got a good look orange peel finish, if it was applied with the correct body deadener gun.
stoneguard was popular with car manufacturers in the 80s, it was put on sills and front stone trays etc

fair enough, cheers stroker. its a pity that ive already layed down the deadener

the gemi's got a huge setback now because we took it for a small cruise to celebrate completeing the boot and guess what happens? we slit out and hit a tree on the passanger rear door and dinged the front end on another tree. and to top it all off we where driving to a major road to arrange for a mate to tow the car home and a cop pulls us over and slaps a $500 fine for driving an unsafe car....such a fun day
