Hq ss ultra violet paint formula
Hi friends,
I am from Sri Lanka and a good gentleman from Australia sent me a color card with the smokey ultra violet paint on it.
However, the local paint shops recommended to match it to a known formula than a scan, so that it is easy to get more later on, in case some extra is needed for a touch up. That's seems like a valid argument.
However, the local suppliers are DeBeer and Sikkens agents. None of their systems have the paint formula for this 2H014.
Would someone here have the correct formula that comprises of DeBeer or Sikkens paint codes?
Alternatively, does this factory paint 100% match to another paint by a different manufacturer? Perhaps that way I could trace to a formula?
Thank you so much

all GMH Holden paint colours from back then relate to a Dulux paint code
2H014 is the 'shorthand'.. you need at least the full code
will be something like 1789-30568 (or something like that) possibly with a 'D' at the end . How to get?
you need a factory car painted that colour .... that proper code will be on the build plate (whatever the code is)__________________________________

Hi Smity
1859-15338 is the code.
The Sikkens software does recognize 2H014 code (also lists all GMH HQ color codes for 1972) and it directs to 343C1, which is the position in their color chart. (Page no. & coordinates)
However, the formula isn't specified in their software.

that is very good info.... but a bit surprising that even though you have both paint codes, you cannot get the formula.
I suggest you have a look at this...

Find a random paint supplier in Australia who deals in the products you have access to and email them. You might get lucky and they can give you the info to pass on to your paint shop.
Or find a contact for De-Beers head office here and do the same thing.
Random paint shop link below.

Thanks guys, this worked out for me. One good gentleman from Australia who runs a paint shop sent me the formula.
Cheers!

I look at the forum every week. It’s good to see it still has activity as I use no other social media.
Wow where has everyone gone
