New clutch shuttering and pedal pulsating / vibrating.

Just installed a new clutch in an Aussie 4 speed and the clutch has lots of shudder on take off and when changing down gears......The other problem is completely new to me, with the new clutch its now developed a pulsation back through the clutch pedal!

Any suggestions as to the cause of these problems is greatly appreciated!

Clutch can be caused by not machining flywheel . Did u change clutch and pressure plate with new items ?? Was the clutch a standard style not a race type clutch ??

Flywheel was machined, clutch kit is new standard duty.....I know sometimes the clutch needs to bed in, the pulsing of the pedal has me really worried!...The clutch is a hydraulic unit that had been working well for twenty years.

Sometimes with a very heavy gearbox ,u can hang the gearbox off the clutch plate splines . This results in damaged plate .
Is the clutch plate around the correct way
Above items do happen but not common .

Try bleeding the hydraulic clutch fluid . Ensure the hydraulics are operating freely.
Check as best as u can the clutch has good adjustment ,if there is any.

clutch shudder with new clutch?

first ...hope you have a new throwout bearing in there
second.. you did bolt and tighten up the pressure plate in the right order? (crosswise)
third.. as mentioned the box better not be hung off the driven plate at any time (warps the buggery out of them)

I would think the pedal pulsation & shudder are related. Make the clutch housing is fitting square on the fwheel..
