Holden V8 253 Specific Head Gaskets
Hi all,
I ordered a set of Holden specific 253 cylinder head gaskets but they are not really specific.
This gaskets are oval shaped at the inner circle and still bigger than the bore.
Now i wonder if someone can give me recommendation for a good set of gaskets that fits to a 253 +0.040 oversize bore block ?

most gaskets now are made to suit the 308's bigger bore.

couple of years ago i got a set of 253 specific bore size ones from aagaskets.com.au but looking now they list same gasket as the 308

Permaseal do a 253 specific headgasket (their cat No. S5130KCGP) and
COMETIC do a MLS version specific for 2fiddythrees.. their list shows
CMH2138SP8027XP as the part number+

In standard form they are the same as far as critical dimensions are concerned. Given the age of these engines you're unlikely to know the full history of them so you'll need to measure things...
