Best way to order holley pump nozzles and jets ??
hi
Wanting to tune 400sbc with QFT -SS- 780vs
Whats the best way to buy a good selection of accel pump nozzles ??
There is a kit available but with a lotta stuff I dont need
Locally its 270$ by the time u buy 6 squirters u may have well bought the kit . The kit includes pump cams as well .
Figure I will need to try 2-3 squirters up and down of size Tot=5-6 nozzles
So whats the best way to do buy the nozzles and cams
The jets are not to bad as i notice i can by lots of 20 in a small rack .
Air bleeds I will drill out etc till I find the best and install new correct sizes

According to the specs that carby already has 33 squirters, is that right? Almost all carbs come with pink cams so that’s probably what it has too. The most expensive things you buy are those you don’t use. I’d be surprised if you need more than a 31 and 35 squirter to trial and an orange and blue cam along with the pink already there. That’s x9 combinations to trial. After that if it’s not quite right you would more than likely know what one part will make it right. If your going to dabble with the idle circuit and main air bleeds and jetting acc pump tuning comes last.
Those jet sets are a cost effective way to buy jets and keep them organized at the same time.
By the specs main air bleeds are .033” so to trial smaller you’ll need to buy or make them. For air bleeds if you have an index drill set then blank 10-32 x I think 1/8” set screws are the go but hard to find in Aus. I think GTOGeoff had a contact? Otherwise get .025” air bleeds and drill to finished size.

hi
thanks
Looked online
comes with a red pump cam which is fatter vs the pink
correct on the pump nozzle size
Basically get the motor running and take it for test and tune ,load in programable dizzy basic timing curve [10-15 at idle and 34deg at 2500rpm ] and measure the A/F ratios first and see if the curve is to my liking
set idle mixture and see if more or less than 1.5 turn out . Gives an idea about transition port mixtures rich /lean
measure and set cruise mixtures about 80kmh try 14--15;1
set PV upto open at 80-90kmh ,,,vacuum at that speed
Set mixtures at 3200rpm = max 100% primaries tune PVR to that 13-14;1
Set secondary mixture as fast kmh as i want to dare about 12.5;1 A/F
Thats all in a perfect world LOL and thats for starters . !!

I have some Holley squirters, never used. 0.025" orifice I believe. I have about 8-10 would have to check; bought them in a moment of weakness. Not going to split them, $5 each.

In standard form they are the same as far as critical dimensions are concerned. Given the age of these engines you're unlikely to know the full history of them so you'll need to measure things...
