Help with identification compliance plate please - HX Ute
Hi everyone,
Firstly, Merry Christmas to anyone reading this today. I’d love some assistance identifying what the following means:
Model: HX8W M 80
Body No: 236357-A
Trim: 0904-67W
Paint: 568-0105
Eng: L23
Trans: M15
RRAXLE: GV7
I believe the model means HX utility. The L23 is a red 202. The trans is an auto trimatic. Trim 67 could be Tan colour.
Would really appreciate any help here - especially with the paint colour... I’ve read a few conflicting things online and very keen to know what the original colour was.
Cheers,
Fixhead83

Thanks very much Smitty - how can you tell it's an Adelaide build?
Also re paint code - here's a pic of the plate. The best I could find online is a few people have suggested it's called "Kiewa Grey" and was a fleet colour used by SEC Victoria. I'm just not sure if this is too early a colour for a HX:

Any idea on the other codes (Smitty or anyone)? Thanks v much - appreciate the help.Last edited by fixhead83; 30-12-2021 at 09:55 PM. Reason: Update

If anyone could confirm the paint too (Kiewa or otherwise) that would be great. TIA

Paint is Kiewa Grey
Its a Holden ute, low compression 202, 3 speed manual and 3.55 diff ratio
Trim is tan.

Thanks very much SL/ENUT! Are you able to confirm the following (sorry to be pedantic):
Body No: 236357-A - do you know what this means?
Trim: 0904-67W - bench or bucket seats can you tell from the 0904?
RRAXLE: GV7 - presume a Salisbury?

Body number is just that, A denotes Adelaide built.
Trim, first number is just the extrerior paint with interior trim combination. You won't tell if bench or buckets from trim.
Diff would be most likely a banjo diff.

Thanks very much SL/ENUT, really appreciate your (and Smitty’s) help here. Have a great New Year. Cheers
P.S can’t find a picture of a HQ-WB painted in Kiewa Grey, but glad you confirmed this was the colour. If anyone reading this has a pic of one please post it...

In standard form they are the same as far as critical dimensions are concerned. Given the age of these engines you're unlikely to know the full history of them so you'll need to measure things...
