    Default HQ door trim removal

    hi
    Door Trim removal
******************Yup sure sounds simple but can u do it with the glass in the ""UP"" position ???

Can any one refresh my memory ,have not removed trim for 25+ yrs
Only 2 clip positions for trim retainment in the inner belt mold area
*****************Does the door trim come upwards only???
    Or
****************upwards with slight inwards motion [10 degrees from vertical ] ???????

need to keep trim and glass, cannot be damaged .

If u have not guessed its electric windows .
Both LH going down not up
    Rhf door clicking motors trying
Wired fresh battery to fuse box window relay
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet to try silicon spray the runners [drown them] and get 2nd person to push down on glass
Yet to Direct power to window motor ,not easy to access with trim on

Yup window systems / door mechanisms / bailey channel / handle chrome are all getting overhauled / serviced / replaced etc .

    ......Any help be appreciated

NB high end alarms can have elec window modules , this will be thrown miles if I find one , re faulty . Warned by the alarm maker it could have one aggggh !!

    hi

With 2nd person tried pushing glass down while operating switch ,,no luck . Lubrication would then also not work .

3rd option would be to try an unbolt electric motor from window regulator. Motor bolted to front low inside panel so bolts are reachable .
    Report back tomorrow ..

Can say I've ever tried it but I can't see any reason why the door trim shouldn't come off with the window up. Remove arm rest, handles, etc. Starting at the bottom and then up each side, pull the trim away from the door and then wiggle (wrestle lol) the trim up and out of the upper part of the door. They can need a little effort to get them away from the door.

You will risk scratching the glass if the wimdow is not down.

    yup

The clips at the top of the door trim next to glass/inner belt mold / that clip into the door are tight ,, more than needed . The window needs to be down so u can use use a plastic trim tool angled from the out side up under door trim . Starting at the non glass end . NB no lever on top of glass .

Outer belt mold seals cracking ,, needs replacement ,,Oh yea the window has to be out LOL

Wrestled the regulator out finally to proceed with above . After removing tons excess wiring systems

Alarm system refit was an alarm with all the bells/whistles but not now
Who said having alarmed automatic window winders was good ,,, LOL very much an early nineties thing delete coming
When alarm backup batteries are old they suck down the start battery ,,delete coming
The central locking is staying !!

    Rechrome door mirrors
Inner and outer door handles rechrome /replace
    bailey
    outer belt mold
    overhaul/replace rollers
    overhaul replace motors
    lock mechanism remove clean relube
    eradicate alarm wiring for windows

doors x4 ,must be lucky LOL

Could u remove trims with glass up dunno ??? potential damage to glass if using tool [having to wedge it in between seal and glass ] or from rivets holding seal on to trim . The inner belt mold would be damaged if it were more than 2-3 yr old also .

    hi
window regulator rollers or sliders [they are the same manual or electric ]

Need rollers ideally only ebay available,, but will sliders work as a replacement 3 per door plus I have these.

Sliders are from Kingswood country or Rare Spares

    Who has done either ???????

    hi
In a nut shell highly likely u will scratch glass if in the "UP" position & try dr trim removal ,caused by the inner belt mold [inside door trim horizontal window rubber] or the rivets holding it on coming into contact . It might be able to be done but risky .
