A Melbourne base cam grinder told me last week there is a big shortage of both flat tappet and roller cam cores, is out a both. Not to mention the large amount of shit quality hydraulic & solid flat tappet lifters around at the moment.

No, trying to go 550+. Heads and cam are set for that. We'll see.

You can make over 600 with 290 cfm no problem.

Yeh I figured that to be so. At my lift, intake is 280cfm and exhaust is 185cfm. A little weak on the exhaust side I'm told?
Long block is all screwed together so it is what it is.

Intake/exhaust ratio is a little weak if you are aiming for 75-80%, where you would want around 215-220cfm.
Those flush with cash would grind some more on the exhaust, or get a cam with more ex lift/duration.

Try it and see what happens as is

Some comp engines run at 60% or less. Horses for courses I know. Rather than waste a set of cometics I'm leaving it as is....unless someone says it's all wrong. I am a big believer in getting everything matched perfectly to everything else. Not sure if I've quite got it just right this time?

I reckon you should just get your engine buttoned up and run it up on the dyno and see what it makes and at what rpm.
I’m sure this combo will put a big smile on your dial.

^^^^ This. Said similar back in post #4. Unless this engine is an EXACT duplicate of another engine where the cam was tested in various positions, it is just a guessing game.

Yeh thanks guys I'll do that. It's not like it's a max effort thing but should go pretty good.
