Default Pistons for 6inch rods

Hi gents,

Whats a good quality piston to suit 6 inch rods in a 355 that won't blow the budget out of the water?
Currently looking at the Mahle flat tops for around $1200 but just checking if anything else is available with part numbers.

Thanks guys

Give Competition Engines a call.
I’ve used SRP 268830 pistons before and they were great. According to Competition Engines website it looks like they have a set with rings, but they list them as part number 168830 with rings for $900.
See screen shot below.
Give them a call and see how you go.

Funny you say that, I’ve also got a set of them in the shed. I’ll drag them and put the part number up of them.

Another vote for SRP pro's. Just checked the box and can confirm the part number is 268830. Comp height is 1.125". Leaves about .0020" to deck off the block to get zero if memory serves. Mahle are good too and if Paul says wiseco are good then I'll bet they are too.

Cheers. Wiseco's from the states are a fairly good price including shipping $750 ish.
I'm thinking I should get the rods at the same time.

Just not sure on the tax&duty part of the shipping.

Here are both the SRP’s & WISECO pistons for a 355 with 6” rods. They both have a 1.125” pin height.

Cheers . The 506a3 lists for a 6.125 rod length?
The 505a3 lists 6.000 rod. Is it the compression height ?length

Maybe they list it for another engine combo.
If you do the maths it’s simple.
6.0” Rod + 1.125 pin height piston = 7.125”
5.7” Rod + 1.425 pin height piston = 7.125”

They end up being the same overall length mate.
