    Default Camry V6 2001 Bucking, jerking.

    I've had this issue for a couple of years. It comes and goes. My mechanic does not know what it could be.

    The car jerks, bucks when under constant steady light acceleration. It is very noticeable at low speed: jerking along. When it happens at high speed it feels like bucking. If reversing up a hill from a stand still, it will cough and sputter. Again, the car doesn't always play up. (At one stage I thought it was something to do with how much fuel was in the tank or if the fuel cap was done up too loosely, as the car would often play up after fueling.)
    I also thought it happened more in hot weather...

    *I don't let the tank get low on fuel.
    * I never use E10.
    * I always visit brand name fuel stations.
    * Spark plugs were changed recently and for a while I thought the car was "cured" but to no avail.
    * Spark plug leads have been changed. Coils have not.
    * New fuel filter.
    * Throttle body clean out/ MAF sensor cleaned/swapped for another one to see if that was the problem.
    * Transmission was serviced 3 years ago, does not feel like a transmission problem.
    * Car now has 224,000km and otherwise drives like new, and I do look after the car.

    Can't think of anything else to add at this stage. Any knowledgeable ideas would be much appreciated.

    Bad fuel injector[s]. I say this because of the intermittent nature of the fault. Could be ign coil also. Or computer.

    Thanks for responding, I think a fuel injector clean should be next on the list. See how we go there.

    I did a bit of looking on line for a work mate who's mother has a Camry that was running rough and stalling a while ago, apparently a faulty coolant temperature sensor can cause some weird behaviour. He replaced it and sorted the problem at the time but he was saying only yesterday it's idling a bit rough again.

    I can't remember if hers is a V6 or a four cylinder though but it might be worth having a look into that sensor for yours.
