I've used M&H J60's for years and they work ok...sometimes
On a VK commo' i found they run best @ 13.5psi but do require some "heating"...to hook.

Front tires,
Is there a benefit using a large profile front tire when running radials? Seeing a lot of 70-80 series out there on the front with drag radials on the rear.

Benefits can be with roll out and weight transfer, depends how car is set up.

So rollout helps reduce the chance of red lighting?
How do they help with weight transfer?
I’ll need to weigh up pros and cons of say 60 series v 80 series for the street and the strip. Driven predominantly on the street it has to turn as well.

I need to decide how far I go down the ‘car set up properly’ route. My goal is 11.3-11.5 et street car, something that can be driven easily and safely on the street. If whacking on a pair of 80 series tires has minimal advantage without other suspension mods that might compromise street driving then I’ll give them a miss.
What about the shocks I put up earlier, ones that can be adjusted at the track. Would they provide more benefit than just tall fronts?

I'm not familiar with those shocks, I imagine they would be reasonable.
Shocks play a big parts with radials when you start pushing.
Roll out will affect your ET if you stage shallow and that's where a large tyre will help. It's not heaps but it can win races.

So it looks like my plan will be to go to Calder and see how it hooks up there with their upgrades. last time there was pretty good and I learned early to bring the drivers seat forward a couple of notches.
If there isn't any wheel spin is there still gains to be had with shocks both ends that can help transfer weight?
