Holden V8 saginaw steering pump pulley

Hello all. New to this forum. I have a HZ with 253 and a saginaw steering pump and need to remove the pressed on pulley. I have a standard china tool kit from ebay however the collars are too small. The lug on the pulley needs a 1 5/8 collar however this seems to be either unique to my set up or I am missing something. Trawling the web for some time has only found tools to fit 1 3/8 maximum. Before I start manufacturing my own can anyone advise what the problem is here?

1/ Have a front end shop do it . Cost minimal .
or
2/ Buy a new or reconditioned saginaw pump

That's interesting . I have the ABW tool i've used on ford pumps . I thought all the Saginaw pumps were same . I'll have to do some measuring

The pumps are pretty much the same but there are a lot of different pulleys out there (and there's always a good chance its not the original), just make something to adapt your puller at least you'll know it fits

Just to finish up this thread. I found that people recognise this problem but also can't remove the pulley, Best advice was to disassemble the pump and push the shaft out from the back. Worked a charm however considering the state of the seals I am surprised the pump was even working. Old style engineering at its best.
