I’ll let you guys decide if the price is reasonable or not. There’s a bit there and cannot tell from pics if boost referenced or not so maybe only T/R.

But what I am seeing is it’s a pair of 650cfm carbs. Telltale sign is two digit number on main body that indicates venturi size

28 indicates 1.28” venturi for a 650cfm. 40 (1.400” for a 750). 42 (1.425” for 825). 56 (1.56” for an 850).
Compare to 850 below

Got to be careful what your getting for premium prices. Car parts as well as cars.

While on the subject of prices rip offs and carburettors, a certain ex board member here form Brisbane clearly is intent on getting rich from enthusiasts for his ''custom and carb work" and I must admit loose terminology in the statement. PM if verification and or details are wanted and who to steer clear from

Is it me or is second hand getting expensive?
I got AU$3,924.72 a pair delivered to my door from Summit.

Edit, tax and duty unknown so would be a few hundred more?

I just ordered some fully assembled TrickFlow heads for a BB Dodge from Summit, $AU3060 & that includes shipping & a set of ARP head bolts.
The shipping from Summit is incredibly cheap compared to other places, plus you get a choice of shipping companies. Shipping with Fedex for above was $US195; same heads from another supplier wanted $400+ for shipping.....
But ya gotta laugh.....
Fedex economy is more expensive than Fedex Expedited. Only the yanks could......

Is it me or is second hand getting expensive?
The dry run I did on the heads above has the following shipping
Friday, Feb 19 - Thursday, Feb 25
DHL Express $229.07
Monday, Feb 22 - Thursday, Feb 25
FedEx Economy. $235.48
Monday, Feb 22 - Thursday, Feb 25
UPS Expedited. $282.52
Friday, Feb 19 - Tuesday, Feb 23
FedEx Priority. $287.01
Friday, Feb 19 - Tuesday, Feb 23
UPS Saver. $370.16
Like Geoff said, don’t understand UPS expedited and economy pricing.
Also I was not long ago looking at heads from a US porter TEA (Total Engine Airflow). Heads and price looked great but the deal breaker was over $900 shipping quote.

Bloody hell I wouldn't pay $800 for it. Some people are destined to take their junk to the grave with them.

Even the I.D. plates are rooted so you couldn't even re-body it if you could get away with it.
How the f#ck do you bend a gear lever like that?

hi
50,000.oo in repairs for a 120,000$ shit box hmmm ..... nope
Australia the land of the overpriced, not so special vehicles.
** Its where Australians have no idea . Virtually ALL rebuilds that look the same as this or worse are only worth something if the bodies are dipped completely for a complete restore . Normal REPAINTING is NOT an option .Rust does not vanish magically !!!!
All very high quality cars are dipped when they are of high value eg 100,000$ or above.
20,000 $ startingLast edited by swampy; 22-02-2021 at 12:06 PM.

Where are the front struts?
hasn't reached reserve yet but it has reached a crazy figure already.
I am convinced some people prize cars in this condition similar to the way the tin sign movement have gone. You know the ones that are reproduction with rust printed on them? There must be a sub culture where the chook shed find seems to be revered.Last edited by BasicQ; 22-02-2021 at 03:52 PM.
