$344,944 for a number plate (pair?).

Wow, to have that kind of disposable income.

People must just buy them for investment, the prices for old numberplates is staggering.

Did you check out page seven? Fifty seven large for one early seventies Citroen, one forty six for the other, forty five for a partially restored "project" nothing hatchback Torana and three hundred for a 327 four speed HK Monaro .

The money for some of the old motorbikes is pretty crazy as well.

    Yes. Continually amazed.

Some things I thought I’d never see such as old kingswoods fetching higher prices than 1955 Jaguar or 1948 Bentley or some models of Porche.

Surely you would only pay that money for a number plate for investment. You wonder how anymore money can be made by paying over 300k on a number plate but here we are in an age where people will pay 50k for an old Kingswood ute and 300k plus for a Monaro that was about what, 3-4K off the factory floor?

That's not really true, some of the more desirable US muscle goes for insane prices. "Collectors" are all around the world paying silly money for their "investments"

I’ve seen people selling Nutri-grain pieces shaped like ET’s head on marketplace for a grand and I don’t think they are as big a joke as $19.5k for a manifold.

VK group A ‘blue meanie’ replica being advertised for $90,000 on fb too. Interesting when they say replica yet make it a 355ci and 19” wheels etc, etc. Also seen not long ago HQ era GTS “replica” for crazy dollars with reverse cowl 253 and trimatic.
