Default 4L80e to Manual LS3 crate engine

    Hello all,

I have recently purchased a New LS3 crate engine.
I have also purchased a New 4l80e and converter.
I have done a bit of research in whatís needed to be done but got a bit confused.

The Crate engine came with a clutch. Can I just remove the flywheel and clutch and bolt up a new flex plate?
    Is there anything else needed.

Thanks in advance, this whole car building thing looks a lot easier on YouTube.

    Marty

PCM/BCM computer and all electrical connections (if you got them with the crate LS3) are very different manual v auto.

    also...
the manual bit/clutch etc will have a roller spigot bearing inside the crank (for box snout).. but
I don;t think that is an issue if you swap to a flexplate as far as I recall

Smitty is correct. The spigot bearing won't be an issue, it can stay in there.

    Drug money......

Basic reconditioned box to buy outright is around 5-6K
Built decent add another 2-3K, more if you want something really good.

If you can find a core, expect to pay at least 1K over here just for that alone.

And they are heavy, I can pick up a 400 and carry it around but a 4L80E, no way.
They are over 80 kg without the converter or any fluid.
