Default HQ Monaro 2 door (Coupe) Window Parts / Adjustment

    Hi,

Hoping someone can advise me -

Having trouble with the drivers side front window in my HQ Monaro (Electric) Keeps jamming / sticking when being raised.

    - Does anyone out there have any info on where to get parts for the 2 Door windows (Regulators / rollers etc)

    - A procedure to adjust? What should I check first?

    - I was thinking of trying to lube the slides first, what is the best lube, will easy glide work or is grease better?

    - I suspect it is the rollers for the glass that need to be replaced, how do I remove the door glass in order to change the rollers & where can I get replacement parts from ?

Thanks in advance, appreciate any help & advice given.

    John

Hi John, try some graphite powder first. Just puff it into the tracks. Have you got regulators fiited? Also I upgraded my battery cables and that made a difference.

Is it electrical or mechanical or not sure?

I wouldn’t use graphite powder. For graphite powder to work it has to be completely moisture free. When the moisture gets to the graphite powder it turns it into a grinding paste.

    Windows are electric / Power

I was going to try to lube all the slides & rollers first to try & avoid taking it to pieces, especially since i don't have any spare parts for it anyway.

i saw in post #1 that it was electric windows. What I meant was do you know if the problem is mechanical or electrical related [ eg, sticking switch, bad window motor ]?

Motor seems to work OK, I think it is a mechanical problem.
