Yeah but I can't follow a link to the site.
eg - google 'holden 308'... any resultant link to aussiev8.com.au returns 404 error.

Nor can I follow links posted on the forum.
    eg in this thread:
    https://www.aussiev8.com.au/showthre...ins-Conversion
    Post #6 contains this link:
    https://www.aussiev8.com.au//holden-...rebuild-8.html
If I click it, I get error 404.

Strangely, I can follow the first link I posted above, but not the second.

2nd post doesn't exist. I cannot find it on the site and
didn't exist when it was shown here - https://www.aussiev8.com.au/showthre...ins-Conversion

Going in circles here... try this please Smitty...

    Google verbatim "holden 355 aussiev8".

First result should be this link, don;t click it yet: https://www.aussiev8.com.au/holden-v...den-355-a.html

It will show you this text from the thread directly under that search result: "Jul 2, 2019 — Holden 355. My car was on the dyno yesterday & the tuner rang & told me that he could not rev the engine past 5200rpm under full throttle but ..."

So google has found a page. Must exist somewhere.

    Now click it.

I get error 404. What about you?

    Cheers.

    Google reports nothing...

    All I get is ...

It looks like there aren't any matches for your search
Tip Try using words that might appear on the page that you’re looking for. For example, 'cake recipes' instead of 'how to make a cake'.

    Unpossible!

To be clear, you typed "holden 355 aussiev8" into a google search bar and google returned nothing?

Hey guys, I've noticed this same behavior in the past few weeks too and have a manual workaround for you that has been working well for me.

    I'm not sure if this is some kind of indexing issue with the site (that's a question for the more tech-savvy) - but read on;

    Using your first example:

    In this thread:
    https://www.aussiev8.com.au/showthre...ins-Conversion
    Post #6 contains this link:
    https://www.aussiev8.com.au//holden-...rebuild-8.html

    Clicking it throws an error.

    Workaround:
Copy the last part of the URL: "60260-rebuild-8.html"

Paste this onto the end of this URL: "https://www.aussiev8.com.au/showthread.php/"

So you end up with this URL: "https://www.aussiev8.com.au/showthread.php/60260-rebuild-8.html" (https://www.aussiev8.com.au/showthre...rebuild-8.html) and Bob's your Uncle!

The majority of Google search results to this site are broken as above, but this workaround seems to work like a dream.
I'm not sure if it's a result of threads being moved after Google has indexed them, or if it's some kind of broader site re-indexing that has taken place.

Let me know if it works for you...

    thanks mate

I think you you have provided clue to an answer here to this...

Mark our site owner and Admin rebuilt AV8 overnight
a few weeks ago.. and following that (23/9/20 actually)
I put up an announcement in the Members Lounge
    which said ..

    AV8 Site fixed ...

    G'day everyone

have had a few members alert us to site issues over the past few weeks
.. access via PC or phone was getting blocked.

had reported this to our site owner / Admin Mark and he has just sent me a text message -
'fixed a number of issues and it all should be up and running again properly'

Yeah I had read that announcement - I think the timing of that rebuild is very likely more than just a coincidence too.

    Ok, thanks for that LX.

Smitty, can confirm all is not ok. Google links still don't work.

    Cheers.
