There is only 1 cam that does EVERYTHING, the mighty Crane 286
jokes aside tell us what you have and what you want to do. If its a stock red 308 its hardly worth camming it up with something crazy.

HZ wagon. Stock engine and exhaust. Quadrajet. Turbo 400.
Who's a good cam supplier?

Camtech, Surecam, Crane, Clive .... A stock engine wont be too good if you stick too big a cam in it though so stay conservative.

OK so we have this engine in the shop at the moment. Done 27000km since it was rebuilt by a company 6 years ago. Has a reground cam
with 2 wiped cam lobes, has put a bit of rubbish through the engine, so going to freshen it up. Has anybody got info on
Mahle Duratec cast pistons? Looking for a ring set to suit. 4.020" 1.5mm top and 2nd 4mm Oil control.
Cannot find any info.
Thanks

Had a bit more time to have a look at this engine and i have a question hopefully someone can help me out with. The pistons used in this engine are a cast Mahle Duratech / discontinued line. I did eventually have someone find me a set of rings to suit this piston through Total Seal, after having 2 sets delivered which were wrong. Ring pack is 1.5mm top and 2nd with a 4mm oil control. The set of rings that suit are from a late model 5L EFI windsor. The radial width of the ring lands are .175". The rings that were fitted to the engine had a top radial width of .145" and a 2nd width of .170". Which is all wrong. Just trying to find out what these pistons are because there is no listing for them on a 308. Does any other american engined piston suit an aussie 308?

I look at the forum every week. It’s good to see it still has activity as I use no other social media.
