    Default ordering from overseas

    hey guys so I'm looking at buying from overseas companies is it worth the $$, i mean the likes of summit, jegs?

    i haven't bought stuff over there, for a while, if your getting stuff under a grand, could still work out ok.
    you just have to do the math, somethings yes, some, no.

    VPW is pretty good, just shop around, the postage can kill ya from the U.S. again, do the math.

    I order a fair bit from summit and now even Amazon. Some good bargains to be had.

    Wait until EBay has 20 or 10% off specials and buy from Jegs. I just bought some Manley Strret Flo valves that way, cost about $325 AUS delivered for 16 valves. The cheapest ones here were almost that much for plain Chinese stuff.

    Summit and Jegs the secret is big orders. You get more bang for delivery buck. Lots of small orders ($$ wise) doesn't add up.

    This is good. Just make sure it doesn't come to more then $1000 AUD or you pay tax.

    When the aussie dollar was parity, I went nuts ordering stuff but these days it pays to shop around locally ....

    I haven't got anything from summit in years. Mostly because NZ sting you tax after only $400 Incl postage.

    If you're going to do it, do it soon. I'm fairly sure I read somewhere recently that the $1000 exemption is being changed from the 1st of July. The exemption will only apply to small suppliers, the likes of Summit and Jegs will need to register for and charge GST.

    If your TOTAL inc postage is over $1000AUD you will get charged tax when it hits our shores.
