Default Got bad valve bounce 308

Had my car dynoed tonight and at 4400 graph looks like a wave.. Need to get some springs.. Have been advised to get doubles as crow cams said with 1.72 rockers I want about 125-130 lb seat pressure.. So now have to pull heads and get machined for doubles..
and the power curve was looking good till then.. Hope it keeps going up..

Don't stuff around with the 1.250 dia Holden/Chev springs - have the spring seats machined to suit 1.450" to 1.500" dia dual valve springs installed at 1.800" to 1.850".
This is a standard conversion these days and isn't any more expensive than machining and fitting 1.250" dial springs, well except for new retainers and valve locks but then you probably had to buy those anyway for the dual springs.
This spring set up and a 250 @ .050" duration cam with .550" lift will easily rev to 7800 rpm before it valve floats !

I've found these which would do the job I think.. Was just going to see what my spring installed height is and see if these will work. My motor will prob peak out at 6k or before anyway with the 223 @50 cam. It's just to get the motor going, will build a good one later so don't want to keep throwing money at it, unless I really have to..

    These would suit I think

That doesnt sound promising... I just want it to run nicely and enjoy it as the weather is getting better, not going to the track or burnout comps, just a nice cruiser that's a bit of fun when I squirt it..

There isn't much comp in it, standard pistons, just a few add on bits up top. At the moment it sounds good and drives good, just valve floats at 4400.. If I can get rid of that as easy as I can I'll be happy.

This is the graph from last night..
Hope this is the valve float/ valve bounce I'm hoping to fix with new springs.

Yeah, youre floating alright ... For youre application those crane springs, which are like an LT1 spring will do, but dont be afraid to put a dual spring on there either ...

your springs must be realy poo to break down at those revs with that cam. sure its not running outa fuel or ignition?

I think they are just stock Holden springs, so don't know what specs they are.. Got plenty of fuel, and all ignition stuff seams ok, it happy turned to 6k with the last cam but it had less lift.. And the geometry was all wrong, rockers sat too far down and the tip was on inside edge of valve with a big sweep area.. It may not have been getting full lift before..
