While I've been taking a break from painting, I've also been finishing off a bunch of other miscellaneous jobs. I rebuilt the front brake calipers and put on new front discs and brake lines. I also finished of the new fuel line clamps that I made. I also put primer on the new GTS mirrors and door hinges and repainted the boot floor.

    HI
    Calipers
1/ Use silver grade never seize on slide pins . Donot use copper or similar as it does not work as well.
2/ lubrication of piston when assembling
Vaseline ,brake fluid ,rubber grease ,silicon caliper lube
***If converting to silicon fluid ONLY use silicon brake fluid as lube

    3/brake fluid selection
Depending on your idea but silicon brake fluid works well
a/ does not suffer as badly as normal fluid ie does not absorb moisture
b/ if overhauling calipers ,wheel cylinders ,changing flex hoses etc etc hard lines canbe reused but must be flushed with solvent . To do this spray carby cleaner or similar in line and follow up with compressed air . Preferably do this twice and let sit for a few days to let solvent evaporate fully . Flush and bleed system as normal.

4/ proportioning valve ,reseal kits are cheap from good brake shop. Recommend stripping as these collect all the junk from the master cylinder over the years . They have specific disassemble needs , some times they don't come apart well . Soak in degreaser etc . Then again brake shop
charge only a small amount to do . your choice .

    Good job

Thanks mate, pretty happy with how they've turned out. Ended up being a fair bit more work than I had originally thought though lol.
