T5 converion into Hx Statesman.
Hi can anyone help me with putting a T5 manual into my statesman? At the moment its a 308 with a Turbo 400 Auto.
I was thinking one out of a VP 5LTR or something. Does anyone no which model would be the best? Do I have to buy a different bell housing, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, tailshaft? Any help would be greatly apprerciated as im lost on where to start off. Also I want to put a Salisbury 3.55 LSD in it, at the moment it has a 3.08 sigle spinner. My question is do the gears differentiate between Lsd and single as i have found some 3.55 gears that are just normal and was wondering if you could use them with an LSD?
cheers
Darcy

If you have one out of a VP 5lt it will bolt straight up as your 308 will also be turbo /chev pattern
Clutch cable might be an issue
along with speedo, tailshaft and mounts
gears dont have anything to do with the centre , ie you can bolt 3.55 to an open centre or LSD (the guts of it)

As long as it's 10 bolt to 10 bolt no problem but check the condition of the gear teeth.
CRS and Dellow have kits for T5's to 308, speedo cables clutch bits etc. You may have a problem with gear stick position though. I used an AU 6cyl Falcon T5 on my 308 HQ.Pedders Frankston - Simon http://www.pedders.com.au/

oh ok so theres no problem with it coming from a 6 cyl? wat was the reason you used a falcon gearbox? Is it a fairly pricy conversion?

the holden t5 is also fatter and you need to modify the tunnel also , you will need a custom tail shaft, custom crossmember , and speedo cable also cable clutch pedal a complete set up went on ebay 2 days ago for $750 but cost me around $1500 a few months ago
