Problem is the old Commo tacho is about 1500 rpm behind in 1st, 1000 in 2nd and then it finally catches up in 3rd.
Would’ve zinged it so many times if it wasn’t for the limiter.

I have a similar spring and lift setup in a hydraulic roller. No dramas to 6500. LS beehive springs.

I got a low rise k&n filter and my linkages hit it. You can get filter risers that fit between the carb and filter base. Sorted my problem out.

Probably the accelerator pump is not adjusted properly or the squirters are too small. Have you checked that?

It depends mate. If you have good quench etc plus the cam is a little bigger than yours so I will lose a little dynamic (running) compression, I’m getting away with it.
I have alloy heads as well so...
