    Default Lsa conversion ht prem

Hi All, Iíve decided to do a LSA conversion into my ht premier and was wondering if anyone has done this or knows of anyone who has. I have done a bit of research but canít find anything solid on exactly what to look out for or what conversion kits to use. Iím going to be running the original steering and cross member and I know that castle rod shop do a conversion kit but havenít heard any feed back about if they actually fit. I want to also go with 4into1ís as the engine is going to be worked and I want to maximise potential. Also if anyone knows of what mods to do to the engine to make the 800hp@engine please let me know. I appreciate the advice.

Hi Mario, I recently did an L98 conversion in a HG Monaro for a mate. He bought the castlemaine kit to retain the factory steering. It uses a cast alloy rear hump sump with a notch channeled out of it to clear the drag link. It worked fine. However, for a performance type application, it is not going to be the ideal solution. The pan before they modified it wouldn't have had a huge capacity, then they probably reduce it by another half a litre or so.

Thanks Monaroman!! Shit I didnít think of that. Iím going to do a stout cam upgrade, pulleys, more cooling for the blower, trunion kit, springs, port heads and snout on the blower . Aiming for 750-800 at engine. So what are your thoughts...do u think maybe use the castle rod shop kit and just modify there sump for more capacity?

Depends on your intentions with the car I'd say Mario. The HG I was referring to is a reasonably stout combo 500+HP and there has been no oil pressure issues so far. It gets driven hard from time to time, but it's just a tough Streeter, not a track car or anything like that. Might be a case that the oil capacity only becomes an issue for circuit racing, burnouts, etc.
If you were concerned that it was going to become an issue, you could modify it to have a larger capacity, or depending on your budget, could look into a dry sump, perhaps?

Thanks for the reply mate. Well Iím doing works to the engine that will make it 750+hp(@engine). The cars just going to be a tough street cruiser and maybe see the track once in a while if that!! I think the dry sump will destroy my budget totally lol...seeing as itís already blown over lol. Iíll just have to do some more research I guess. Unless anybody else on here wants to give some pointers ☺️!
