    Default Holden Trimatic identification

    Hi I have a 253 blue motor with vr stamped on it...it seems to have a trimatic on it with L/H shifter rod and a yellow plaque with LM printed on it I can't seem to find any info on it or what car it was out of please help me thanks

    I don't have a listing for LM but VH 6 cyl is LL, and VK EST/EFI sixes are LP and LR. So it seems pretty likely that its something like a VH 253 which would make sense with the engine its attached to. 253 spec is likely to have an extra clutch plate or two compared to six cylinder, but not quite to 308 level. That assumes its never been mucked with and once you start looking to rebuild it doesn't matter much anyway.

    LM code is a 5 litre trans out of a WB. Have seen a few in Commodores but they don't really belong there.
    LN is the identical trans but RHS selector for the column shift ones.

    It's a series 4 Trimatic

    Valvebody is a 699 and transfer plate should be a 92017703 if that helps do a positive I.D.

    Anything else let us know.

    Hi thanks for the info I'm trying to sell the auto and the engine it has the heads timing cover oil pump and internals what would be a reasonable price I had 120 on the engine is that to cheap I don't want to get rich off it just want a reasonable $ I have know idea myself...thanks
