    Default 308 lifter wear fix?

    I know that 308 seem to wear out cams and lifters, is there a fix for this,??high volume oil pump maybe??

    Replace the original pump, or at least get it rebuilt. There is a thread on here also about oil pump mods on Holden V8.

    Here a some I can think of.

    Keep your idle to 1000rpm min and don't idle around for too long.

    Use EDM lifters that have an oiling hole on the face.

    Scribe the lifter bores.

    Fitting restrictors in the lifters/pushrods to help minimize top end oil flow should promote more oil flow in the lifter bores.

    Run the cam in properly with inner valve springs removed.

    High volume pump, yes but not worth all the extra pit falls.

    We don't know if this is a new build or not last couple of engines we did roller cam and lifters came in at under 1 k take away the cost of a flat tappet and if it does a lobe the extra expense isn't that bad but horses for courses.i doubt anyone is using k mart oil
