    Default My hq

Will put up pics if i can figure it out. Ive had this car for 15 years. Resprayed it dodgy twice before this time. Once orange, once black and now orange again, but done properly this time, bare metaled it (by myself with four 4 litre tins of chemical stripper, some razors and heavy duty pot scourers), got a fella round to do some panel beating. Then me and a mate done all the bog work. Factory colour is saffron metallic. Ive painted it lone o'ranger this time. Its getting a carbied 304, ford T5, VN diff, VN booster and master cylinder. VE calais seats. Custom gts style gauges.

Any more shots of the rear seat? Do they fit well?

It fits ok. Not perfect but will do the job until i get the original seats redone. I had to trim the back bit thats about 2-3 inches virtical like all VE seats have off the base to make it shorter and cut some wire frame away. Then i gladwrapped the floor and filled with expanda foam and pressed the base into the foam to mould it to the floor. For the back i just welded a rod at the right height to hook over the factory hq seat hooks

Its been a manual since 2 years after i first got it, and my other two cars are autos, so i thought i better have a manual in one of em.

This is my other weekender just a averege 5L with the usual bolt ons (cai, extractors, bigger T/B, twin 2.5 inch exhaust) and a bit of a tune, has an MV Automatics built T700 and precision diffs built 3.9 trutrac diff. Just needs a decent motor one day. But the hq needed the time and money first for once.

Awesome, in my opinion the basic HQ front end is the best looking of the H series, probably because the stato front was done to death, just nice clean and simple

The other side had 2 spots of rust repaired and the parcel shelf had 2 spots and that was it for the whole shell, was bugger all really.

Ha ha, you must be the luckiest H series restorer out there, most spend years doing rust repairs.
