    Default Deuce's "TUF355"

    Hey all,

    Here is my Commodore.
    I did most of the work myself and on a tight budget too. It looks relatively stock - but goes much better than

    And the engine bay:


    Quick run down-
    Engine - 4000km old 355" VN short block from a VK brock, mated to COME heads from ex northern muscle cars Torana 2 seasons old, crow 4502, ARP head studs, BBF crow springs, Miloden windage tray (modified), Crane Gold r/rockers, Stock intake (modified and coated), 70mm T/B & 36lb super6 injectors. 9.1cr
    Trans - stock 4L60E, TCI shift kit (Trans will probably die soon) stock converter
    Diff - Harrop cover, 3.45
    Wheels - HPC coated VR HSV Senator - with custom centre caps, 245/45-17
    Suspension - FE2 stock height Monroe & Dobisport
    Brakes - VT fronts, VE rears

    Current performance:
    2.142 60ft, 13.94qtr, 79mph 1/2 track, 100 at full track
    280rwhp & 630Nm on Torque performance Dyno

    Nice, you don't see that many VR/VS's around. I had a VS SS only reason I sold it was I was broke at the time and couldn't afford the fuel.

    sounds like you were in the right place at the right time for the 355 short motor and COME heads. I still haven't got my COME heads yet, but working on it
    Are you planning on upgrading the intake manifold in the near future ? I have no doubt you'd have even more potential hp in that combo with the right manifold.

    Yeah mate, try nz fuel prices. Lol

    Yeah, good chap was trying to sell engine complete but I thought it was a bit wild for the street so tried to get just heads from him. He eventually gave in when his mate bought the bottom end. He was a real good dude.
    Then a year or two later I haggled a chap from the deep south into selling short block for a deal. Ideally if built from scratch I would have more compression, but I can't complain about the results for the outlay.
    One day I might get a nice yella terra Whipple 'intake' on there. But who knows.

    you could shave more than 1/2 second off the time if you could launch the thing off the line

    Nice looking SS mate...I haven't seen too many ballzy ones of these getting around lately.

    Do you plan on doing anything more to it later on?
