After lunch it ran 13.948 @ only 88.43 because of braking to secure dyo win. Then a 13.846 @ 93.39 braking at the top end, but still breaking out on my 13.85 dial. PB 60footed at 2.108. Thanks to immortality for tuning in the extra timing at the lower rpm for the improved 60s. (Hopefully he has some photos too)

Haven't uploaded photos yet, still trying to figure out why the tune kept forcing the trans to up shift early

That's a good shot. With the distance + overcast conditions, you can't see all the dirt up the sides from the wet grass in the pit area.

I reckon it had a 13.7 in it on that 13.84 run if I had kept my foot up it

Hey Paul, Fed it some more timing early in the rpm range and saw some of that 1/2 second you promised. Still searching for the rest of it next time it goes to the track though.

    Default Deuce's "TUF355"

Good stuff mate. Getting out there and having some fun. What stall and diff gears do you have.

    What engine mods as well?

Still standard stall and gearing. Quick list of engine mods on page1 post 1, ask for more details on specifics if you like.

yeah timing works great, just smashing a lot of initial in (whilst keeping in mind total) works good .. I blew headgaskets like that once, worked good up till that point though

It's EFI so I can add timing anywhere without effecting anything else

So far every time we have bumped up the timing we have seen small gains unfortunately without some sticky rubber it's traction limited out of the hole so not much point adding any more initial timing until we can make use of it

I also have a nifty little knock sensor gizmo that plugs into the car stereo so the driver can hear any minor knock before it would normally be audible to the driver, unfortunately his stereo had a slightly different plug arrangement so we didn't get to run it last weekend

    Update:
New (2nd hand) headers are in - bigger 1-3/4" primaries now. Thanks to RedTaxi for the deal.
Rebuilt steering rack is in. Modified as 'Race Rack' so is a little heavier and should twitch less at higher speeds.

Will see how it goes next week.

And then Powercruise Hampton in 2weeks

What did they do to the rack or did they modify the pump?

    Standard pump,
The rack usually has a balance pipe across the back, but that is deleted. And in by the pinion gear something is changed. Feels heavier, but has a leak on the return line I should get fixed today.

    Update:
Car went really well on day1 of Powercruise (a few weeks ago now) but never made day2.
It flickered warning lights and cutout halfway. I eventually got it restarted & limped home (used excessive gas because of larger injectors). Tracked it back to a fault code I think was caused by a dodgy regulator. I cleared codes, moved brushes into a mates good reg and re-installed. Then fired it up, took it for a drive and checked oil pressure; idle's at 18, max's at 50psi.
Removed pump, cleaned mounting surfaces, added a 2mm shim to the relief valve and chucked it back on - oil change and done!

Then yesterday it would not start. Solenoid would click, but starter wouldn't spin. My mate towed me 4km home and we removed/stripped/cleaned/rebuilt and reinstalled the starter and it now starts fine.
It hasn't been a good month.

I have ordered a new (genuine) regulator, and will look at getting a new starter in the next 6months just to be safe.
Lets hope my electrical woes are over.
