Yes with a 3" drop base filter it should be fine. I sat my existing 4" filter on it and the bonnet will close to the first catch but not game enough to try closing it all the way.

It sounds healthy in the video, nice work, has it got some extra cubes as well as the new heads? Oil leak's a pita, especially from the back of the valley.

It's just a little .040" over standard stroke, about 314 cubes. It was only supposed to be a quick VN head conversion but it got out of hand a little. At some stage down the track I'd like to do something with a few more cubes but this will do for now. The oil leak is a little annoying but if it's the worst thing I have to deal with I'm a happy camper.

Thanks 75THR, I thought I'd go for a different look this time, I think it suits the car better.

Where the 314 in my user name comes from, I toyed with the idea of more cubes many years ago but stayed with standard stroke, they do ok. You've got a really nice car there, enjoy the new power.

Had a few teething problems but finally got it out for its first drive, seems good so far. Just needs the tune sorted out, some fresh oil and fix the exhaust rattle.

Fits a 4" filter under the bonnet but I have a recessed base, a lid with a recessed section for the nut and the bracing has been cut from under the bonnet.

A 3" filter would fit no problems.

So now that the engine is sorted I've started on the next project, installing a Fitech EFI kit.
