I have heard quite a bit of criticism of the come racing twin throttle bodied manifold. What I don't understand is how could it be worse than another manifold that has the throttle body at the front. I understand that Come racing themselves would not be amongst those doing the criticising due to it being their manifold. However they have the runs on the board that say it is a good thing.

Actually tunnels are a long runner, much better for lower end sure it has plenum volume but the runner length is more important... So the runner length itself isnt an issue.. I think the issue people have with the COME tunnel is that the throttle body is right where the front 2 runners are hence people have noted that they have air/fuel distribution issues.. Nowhere close to the design of the holley.. The one next to it with the twin 4150 top, f-ck I'd love one of those

Pauly, I think they look grouse... But word on the street from smarter people than me is they make less HP & TQ than a Dual plane... So go figure...

    Hi all
The copie Come manifold is sheet metal fabricated useing just the bottom of a standard manifold
The runners are 6" long and at the start of the runner they are 45mm x 50 mm then taper down to the standard size port.
It has a ford twin throttle body at the front on a small angle facing up ( its not a throttle on top tunnel ram )
Plenum volume is about 6L and the top has a plate that can be removed
I was thinking that i could add 75mm bell mouths on the runners , there is enough room and get a raised top plate made
Ill try and post some pics

I tried to find a dyno tuner yesterday but everone one told me cant tune delco .
But people have been putting superchargers on vs 304 /355 for ever
Can any one point me to someone on the sunshine coast?

but everone one told me cant tune delco .
cause they're all too young that's all..

an ecu is an ecu really, people just use one that the tuner is familiar with.. aftermarket etc.. you'll find someone that can tune a Delco surely.

Maybe the front mount TB one, but the 2nd one in that picture with the twin 4150s if that makes less power than a stinky dual plane then you'd seriously have to ask what did I do wrong lol ... If it wasnt for the insane asking price I'd buy that 2nd one tomorrow

Yep, Im hearing you. I was jawing off about the setup with the front mount TB. And yes, they are insane money, but I still reckon they still look grouse in a VN-VS Commodore engine bay.

yeah you would.. we chucked together from shit laying around.. 308 30 thou over with stock VN heads valves 1.94/1.6 got a decent valve job done and cleaned up short turns.. decked the block and milled the heads to get about 11:1 crane 252/260 solid. half the rockers were YT, the half were Cranes second hands lol same as the springs and pushrods.. big single plane and a 750 holley.
    3.9 gears 4500 converter, 3200lb car, went 11.3 @ 118mph.
so yeah you dont need flashy wank.. but it looks wild that's for sure

I buy a lot of stuff based on looks... But if you did a 355 with that tunnel you'd want 650HP+ aspirated you could do it with a single but it wont look as good

Hmmm for a VH or VK its a carby for me.
I also love the look and performance of the VL or VN Group A inlet manifolds (Ive see a few grouse VHs with them fitted) Only drama with those manifolds is that they are drug money to buy if you can find one.

There is a group A inlet manifold for sale, asking $12,000, no offers. A person would want to have one real bad to pay that price.
My vh has had an injected motor in it for the 20 of 22 years I have owned it. At no stage had I ever considered changing to a carburetter. It always seemed to be a retrogressive step to me.

Fark,,, you'd make a sheet metal equivalent for far less than that

Next time at the track, I will advise weather lightly modified bananas, or stock come ttb are the quicker option on my car.

I also love that twin ram look. But without more mods and a giant reverse cowl, it is not a feasible option.
