Default 308 finally runs an 11sec pass

Hi guys been a while since i posted last, raced last weekend a the holden nationals in heathcote and finally reeled of an 11.77@118mph full weight vk sedan making 330rwhp.
1.65 60ft best one ever pretty happy with that. backed in up with an 11.84 and 11.85. Ran a 750 APD full billit carb for the weekend, put me dirty old 650dp holley on it later on and went 12.00 @ 116mph. Had auto and convertor built the week before best et before was 12.2 @ 114mph best 60ft 1.89. massive improvement. My dominator 5k stall blew the stator bearing to pieces and destroyed everything few weeks ago.

At 118mph you have some power, you have more than 11.77 there...

Nicely done. In a full weight VH I went 11.7@120, 355 making 430rwhp with a manual box. Quite a contrast there. Autos soak up the numbers on a chassis dyno. As Paulie says that's good power. More than the 330 would suggest.

Manuals are really good for the chassis dynos... Anything with a bit of stall in the converter and you leave a bit disappointed most times... 120mph is good power too

Cheers guys, yeah feels strong now with new convertor in it, did 3 consecutive passes were 118mph which i was happy with.
yeah i guess the 5000 stall doesnt help me on dyno lol. the engine made 460hp on the engine dyno 130hp loss at the wheels, not to sure what percentage is good a good loss.
it was the first time i used a 2 step limiter off the foot brake as well so i can probably get more out of it, only got 4 passes in for the week end.

Dont worry about 'loss' per se... If you put a big heavy clutched manual in, with 18" squegee profile tyres the chassis dyno would have made more but the stall and drag radials or slicks will be quicker, so as long as you get the tune on the chassis one thats all that matters, the MPH tells the tale in reality

    Gotta be happy with that!
Works out to about 400 Moroso HP and good for 11.2 @ 118mph.

Must be something majorly wrong with the 650 carb, for it to be around 40hp short?

cheers mate yeah pretty happy with it. the 650 was on it tuned for the street no spacer on it running a harrop high rise, i borrowed the APD billet 750 to tune it to race, it made 20hp extra just bolting it on out of the box. ended up running a 2'' super sucker under it as well as it responded quite well with it but didnt loose any torque so we just left it on.
