Default What are the Xtra inlet manifold front to rear cooling hoses ??

    Hi
On 308 after reading it does seem a benefit to have 1 or 2 bypass hoses fitting f to rear of inlet of a 308.
Whats the main purpose ,, to bleed air ???? eg from pump cavitation etc and therefore promote even cooling especially to the rear cylinders .

To maintain coolant flow in those areas and as a bonus air will bleed out easier too.

on a road car? stuff all

on a race car? to stop popping head gaskets due to steam pockets developing
at the rear of the heads from poor coolant circulation

was something Brock fitted to his VL Group A Plus Packs as its a bit of a dead spot and was trying to cure a hot spot issue - when they went to SPA 24hrs with the VK's they kept blowing head gaskets

    Hi
    Requirements
1ST to bleed air . 2 sources A/ normal cooling system bleed . B/ bleed of any cavitation air bubbles . Bubbles gases caused by combustion on outside of cylinder liner .

2ND to evenly cool cylinder heads at rear . The hose size is not about flow as most use 2x 3/8 pipes but more about cooling evenly .

Similar to chevys background . I`ll explain

There was a lot of investigation with water fighting its way out of the engine . The hotter the fluid would always win and exit first and push /stop the lower temp fluid. As the lower temp fluid heated it then flows and stops the opposing manifold cross over from flowing . This goes on and on and on . Effectively constantly stalling water flows .
From what I have read this was at the front water crosss over BUT YES I have seen these manifold hoses fitted to chev as well .

I guess most of this all happens on a race car with average higher revs than a street car.

Cure all is just to fit a LS engine. Not gunna happen !!
