Probably need a bit more info mate like exhaust and headers? Intake and carby? STD compression ratio or higher? These all important factors to consider when picking a cam also how wild do you want to go? Mild upgrade or something a bit more cranky

I knew someone in Toowoomba that was a p plater with a v8. He told me that it was because there were only v8's in the household. He had to pay more to be able to do so.

Yeah,yeah...you can apply for an exemption certificate to drive the V8 and a few other reasons you can also get exemptions, but i was generalising here...

Generally, if the vehicle was made prior to 2010 and has 8 cylinders, it is verboten...

Err on the side of caution, that is the small side. 253 is not a large engine & over camming the engine quickly turns it into canine status....
210-212 @ 050, single pattern, 110 LSA would be a good overall performer with a reasonable idle & vacuum for p/brakes.

I'm with gtoGeoff.. 253's arent really a motor that's just waiting to be unleashed, that cam he suggested would work ok.
