Easiest solution is go straight back to HPE and talk to Pete about your plans.

    This.

Go to the bloke who built it. I think you will be surprised on what your going to need to make this happen. Wonít be cheap.

You can get to there with 355 cubes. Solid flat tappet in the 260's @ 0.050" lift and extensive work on the cylinder heads will get you there. Better still will be the solid roller option. But in either case, you're stretching the friendship with 7/16" 2 bolt mains.

    Hi
Vn heads max out 210-240cfm [with minor work depends who u talk to ] with out having mega dollars spent on them . Then u may as well go to after market heads .
300cfm thru the heads cam compression exhaust and inlet to suit . Many $$$$

This is why chevs were invented .
I`m sure there are a few holden v8 utube videos with aftermarket heads check em out

Assuming your pistons are already at zero deck, you just have to mill the heads to bump the comp up. I'm sure HPE will suggest you go to 4 bolt mains.
With a setup very similar to yours, I had pretty obvious signs of cap walk with 7/16" 2 bolt mains.

yer i will be going to hpe if i get anything done. he only built the heads and it was about 5-6 yrs ago. im thinking he could squeeze some more power out of it with a cam swap and more head work bump up comp abit.

You can mill the heads to achieve whatever compression ratio you like, it's just a case of when piston to valve clearance becomes an issue (which it won't it your case). You haven't really told us much about your engine. Do you know the specs on the heads? What pistons are you using, to reliably do what your asking, forged pistons will be a must.

Nitrous is also a good option if you are just looking for more power at the track...
