    Default Anybody used these?

Looking for a new radiator and fan set up to suit the boosted 304 in my vc, has anyone found any real good or bad options I should look at or steer clear of?

I was considering something like this:
    https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F253374548769

Apologies if it's been asked already but I could not find the answer I wanted with the search button.

    Hi
    need to no
    fins per inch ??
    tube count width ??
    Fan
Fan current draw /wattage ,need to be at least 15-25amps 2000 cfm minimum
Fan at 17 inch /2400cfm would cover most of the core ,the one pictured does not .

The only issue u may have is clearance to the water pump pulley.

    In a perfect world
14-16 FPI [fins per inch ]
tubes at least 5/8 width x3 or 4
    tube pitch 5/16--3/8

    Fans
preferably 2 at least 1300cfm each or 1 at least 2400cfm single [deralle 17 inch ]

    no... but I wouldn't

firstly top outlet on rad is way way out, the angle is all wrong

3 row rad?.... how wide ? (this is important)

and the shroud and single fan? nope too restrictive
which is why many use 2 small fans with a svhroud

My vh has an injected 355 with an alloy radiator. I have used the standard clutch fan, a single electric fan and now a twin electric fan. The twin electric fan is the only one
I have found to be of any use. No matter how long I have to sit in traffic it doesn't overheat.

Appreciate all the input lads, OK so let's go back a step:
-where would people be looking to get an alluminium radiator from for a 304 running a blower? I've heard some of the big name brands are junk and some people swear by the eBay stuff.? Can anyone offer first hand experience?
    - as for fans I can't see anything bigger than a 16ď fitting without issues, so two fans sound like the go.
If I can find the right radiator, fabbing up a neat shroud for 2x fans won't be too hard..

you can get 2 x fan/shroud setups on Fleabay.. but from memory they are Falcon ones'
(that happen to fit the Commodore rad)

I believe the Mondeo fans are a good fit for the early girl Commodore radiators, another popular one is the FG Falcon large single thermofan. There is a thread on the JC forum with a fair bit of info on fitting thermofans and wiring etc.

This is for vn-vs-v8-ultimate-thermo-fan-conversion-guide-au-mondeo-bf-fg but aren't they the same size radiator as the early girls?

A brand name will be a better fit and finish and overall build quality but your going to pay for it, you could try a china thing and see how you go. Ive personally sold many adrad full ally ones as they can be customised to suit application and can personally vouch for their quality.

Plenty of people running the cheap alloy radiators without trouble. I know a bloke who pressure tests ALL of his radiators before they go out to customers, even from reputable suppliers. Cap both inlet/outlet and submerse in a tank of water. Pressurise with compressed air with regulator set at cap pressure. If there are air bubbles it's sent straight back to the supplier or repaired at their cost.

Dont skimp on a cheap radiator, remember adequate cooling ensures the engines longevity more so if boosted.

PWR radiators are a trusted Australian brand, they have a couple of different models for 1st generation Commodores.

    Ie: Part No: PWR0330 – VB-VK 8Cyl Holden.

I'm not really interested in skimping, I was more trying to start a discussion on products people have used as I hear so many mixed reports on these alluminium radiators.
