Default Manifold advise for mild 308, calling experts

    Hi all
Calling some experts opinions for best manifold carby setup for my mild 308.

OK here is the info on my engine going into a HQ ute...and want it under the bonnet NO bonnet scoops.

    V8 308
    Decked and balanced
    Hypatec small dish pist 10cc
    Crane Cam hyrdrolic 226/30@.050
    L34 intake and exhaust valves
    A9L conrods
    Roller rockers
    Ported pre polution heads
    Comp 9.5:1
    Will have a 3000stall
    Trimatic manuelised
    3.55 gears in diff

So currently engine has a torker single plane manifold and no carby.Carby thinking of a Holley 650dp.
...... Do I keep the torker on it? Or do I change to a dual plane? It's going to be a weekend street car and want the power on tap.... Not sure how many times on the road one can go full throttle which is why I'm second guessing the single plain manifold.

Any suggestions would be appreciated (but want it all under bonnet)

PS; I'm no engine expert here

Performer dual plane. Might like a 1 spacer.

Porting current manifold would be my choice bang for buck.

My old 308 was a bit warmer than that. More comp and a solid cam. I switched from a performer to a torker. It went a bit quicker up the top end but lost a bit of driveability. For a purely street car I would go back to the performer without hesitation.. 650dp is good.

If you are going to insist on the 3000RPM converter then I'd try the dual plane.

On your combo the Performer will kill the Torker everywhere.

Might have a Performer here if you want a second hand unit.

Performer with a 15mm spacer... for your combo
Torker only really works well on the track I have found

ps... a Quaddie will be awesome on the that

Thanks Smitty and paulzig for the advise.

Smitty how/where can I buy the spacer?
Also will a 650dp Holley still be OK as I really want a brand new carby for peice of mind and reliability (oh with a fuel log....is that also OK?)

He has stall and gear to suit a stock/mild engine, so best to go with a manifold a touch better than stock..

If its a 650 double pumper I'd put it straight on the performer without a spacer 1st, it'll have better response with a fully divided plenum

Your advice is solid but I'm still shocked you didn't tell him to man up and keep the torker lol
