Good work mate. Shove a cheap 355 crank in it while it's down! Joke. Silastic around welsch plugs works for me...

Wellll there's still a 4 bolt block, and harrop crank kickin around just begging for some attention... haha! Nah, they're just moth balled waiting until I finish this one, then PSI 304 might become PSI 355 with an 80mm or something.

    Its fun to dream.

Hey fellas. Well, progress is slow at the moment. Been working as much as possible, get as much coin behind me seeing as the little bloke is expected any day.

But, the sump got cleaned out, new welsh plugs are in, new water pump is on, intake manifold got a birthday too, and the motor is sealed up again.

Wish I had've taken a 'before' shot of this steaming pile of shit, because its looking pretty good now haha!

Just waiting on the GM Motorsport output shaft and coan tailhousing so the gearbox lengths can match, and still getting my head around the vac spaghetti. Now that the stock headers are gone the motor has extractors, will this pose an issue for the choke?

Next job is to put the VL turbo diff in, then measure for tailshaft once motor and box are in situ. Slow progress blokes, but progress none the less.

    Cheers

G'day fellas, long time no chat.

Young bloke arrived at the start of August so of course life came to a screeching halt for a while, but now that the shock has subsided and life is settled into its new normal I've been grabbing an hour here and there back in the shed.

Nothing overly exciting to be fair, all the boring necessary stuff. Car currently sits like this

With the state of the motor and trimatic that came out of the car you can imagine the under body was much the same... and it was. So I set about grinding it all back to bare metal with a wire wheel, a decision I soon lived to regret

Sat in primer while I decided what to do next. The original thought was simply satin black paint, but I bit the bullet and pennied up for a raptor liner DIY kit in the hope it will help with sound deadening and vibration once this rig gets it's angry donk later. Not entirely sure how I feel about the coarse texture, but its only the under body so who cares, right?

Borgwarner diff and fuel tank have both been given a birthday with the K frame and the front suspension next on the agenda

Finally, after deciding to remove the battery tray, the level of rust underneath forced the decision to do some work in the engine bay while it's empty. Clearly love creating work for myself haha!

So have belted the indent out of the drivers side strut tower, and will smooth things out in there as time allows.

Anyway guys, just a bit of an update for those who are interested, and to keep myself accountable towards progress, no matter how little it may be. Get ready to wind down for a cracker of a Christmas season everyone. Enjoy yourselves, stay safe, and hope we all have a great year in 2019

Well done on the standard of work you are doing under there. I used Raptor Liner in my ute tray and I'm not sure it does too much in the way of sound deadening but it is tough so will keep damage from stone chips at bay.

Thanks for the words of encouragement gents. Been a good little boredom buster so far, looking forward to getting a bit more done hopefully in the near future
