Yeah when coin permits I'll be going the M86 Crewman Diff. Bloody cant remember the shop but the owner said they are bomb proof and will still be a "little" cheaper but way lighter than a 9 inch.

A BW78 from a VL will bolt straight up and with a few extra bits, should handle your power level comfortably.
Plenty of goodies around to beef them up too.

Be less than 1/2 the price of a 9".

True. Are they the same width as the 10 bolt? Or VN?

1510mm for the 10 bolt - 1524mm for the VL borgy (disc)...so 7mm each side, which is bugger all if running sensible wheel size/offset.

See if you can get hold of a vk b/w diff....think you can use 1 10 bolt axle & a vn axle...might even take both salisbury axles...yet to do vk b/w only done vl diffs.

Can get lsd centre out of ford diff cheaply or go spool although torquelock or truetrac much better.

Gears like 3.7-4.11 can get out of old fords or pintars/skylines...can be done on a budget if take time to chase parts.

Vl n/a housings are little more common but have long & short axle...new axles $600-$800 unless you narrow down 2 long vn axles & don't mind vl long axle left with just 10-15mm of spline contact.

Should be right. I’m going to be getting 18 x 8 with +38 offset.

Ha! Well I’m sure I’ll find a set of pursuits with MT Radials. But I don’t think the old Saginaw will enjoy race day. Lol

i have 17x8 with +38 offset. if i done it again id get something like +45

what ive got with 235/45/17 even with adjustable panhard will scrub slightly. there is room for the wheels to go inwards more. thats on a stock width 10 bolt. a VL diff being wider would need more positive offset again

i can fit 255/60/15 et streets on 7 inch chasers when the car is very low. now being a baggy tyre they are a very tight fit.

I remember reading your posts about that. The wheels I’m looking at only go to 38. It’s weird because I phoned the company that do the 19 -22 inch Aeros ( not that I want them but quizzing the offset) and he said the 19’s bolt straight up with a 38 offset. No mods required? Who knows.

i mean if it wasnt so low it may not be a problem but to allow them to scrub at full compression is a dumb idea. the inside of the tyre has about 50mm to the inner wheel arch in particular the seat bolt. the et streets i had to cut the end off that bolt & i can barely squeeze my finger in between the tyre & bolt head. so +45 wouldnt be an issue.

at mines ride height as suspension compresses instead of the diff being pushed to the right due to the panhard it pulls it to the left. so to stop them rubbing the diff isnt centred

Exhaust almost done. Ran out of gas. Fits great though. First real go using my TIG. A bit messy but should hold up.
