    Default 355 early head cruiser

Hey guys been a while between posts so I thought I would touch base again and post a classic Holden build I'm currently doing, i am very time limited ATM but i will do my best to keep this up to date.

engine is a 355 with our smaller version 1.94/1.54 valve Cnc HQ casting early heads for a real nice HQ wagon that does plenty of cruising down the coast, we did the top end a while ago for the engine that was in the car it was a stock stroke 308 with a crane 226/230 hyd flat tappet cam, performer intake with pacemaker 4 into 1 headers and dual 2.5" exhaust.

we did the heads with screw in stud conversion and crane gold rockers in case of future cam upgrades, match ported the intake, put .027 cometics on it to get some sort of comp in it with the .030 deck height,( luckily it had flat top pistons in it ) and put a 3600 stall converter in it.

it sounded cool and went well with the upgrades but the boys have decided to do some more upgrades so it makes more power and sounds more angry as well so we we are doing a 355 bottom end, solid flat tappet cam, valve spring upgrade, TP single plane intake with a new QFT carb.

engine will be going on the dyno once it is completed then back in the car along with fuel system upgrade and a converter change as well.

starting off with a virgin bore VN block we did all the usual machining, basic oil system mods and block prep

Great to hear from Pete. I see some of your photos show in the thread and some don’t. Is this due to the ‘photobucket’ issue?

Hi Pete, looks like you missed the photobucket debacle. Photobucket have disabled the feature letting people host photos. Most people have switched to using alternative image hosting eg imgur, postimage, google photos.
