Default VL V8 955 inlet manifold modification

Does anyone have a drawing or discription that describes any modifications to the std VL 955 inlet manifold to better represent the "HDT 955" inlet manifold to allow it to flow better as a dual plane style manifold. Or even a machine shop that may have a CNC program?

I wish to keep my cold air try & original quadrajet in my VK Group C replica.

VK and VL 5955 GMH manifolds are the same ....
and both were used 'as is' by HDT on their road cars
(as did GMH on cars with the V5H and V7X 'performance' engines)

there was rumour' (never substantiated of course ) that the race car
engine builders of the day (in Burns, Tate, Small et al) used to cut up
the standard 5955 Holden manifold into pieces, grind or machine away
internal parts to aid flow and then weld it all back together....

Also said they would have used the performer if they were allowed instead of the 955.

If you can find a 955 Group A real race intake you will notice the weld right down the middle where they were split open to allow some serious porting before being welded back up. I've seen and heard one and they enable some fairly serious revs for a dual plane. Not sure who perfected it back in the day though. Lotsa work.

There is an interesting video from the guys at Engine Masters which also compares dual Vs single and although the single made more peak power the dual was better fairly much everywhere else. Should be on youtube soon.

I sold my cracked to buggery 955 manifold for $400, about 10 years ago. Builder said it was going into historic racing and was gonna cop the group a "treatment". Builder told me it cost the customer just on $3000 to mod it. Didn't really surprise me though, imagine the amount of work and skill involved. Serious skills needed....

I'm a little confused, my inlet manifold has 4 holes yet I've seen 5955 manifolds as dual plan manifolds.

The 955 manifolds on vl's were 4 hole, I believe the vl brocks still retained the vk type 955.
