Old slappers are the best , This is the same thing that my self and 3554me have been hashing togeather for the last couple off mounths . Only real difference is that we are using a crane 288 solid , Speedway motors valve springs that use the same part no as crane and Harland sharp Pontiac rockers . All stuffed into a old and ugly VC .

Pete, Cheers mate. I'll be in contact in the new year - if it doesn't break by then I'll be bored of it I'd say so we'll definitely put something together that goes a bit harder. The car has built th400 (rmvb and tbrake) good tailshaft, and 9" with 4.11's so I'll want to go racing (11's would be dandy).

350 and 3554me you boys are up to some serious shenanigans and I want to follow you!

I'll say it again you lot are my inspiration and I owe all of you. Appreciate the kind words from everyone.

Tomorrow we'll go through things I've since done to the intake mani :P I bought a compressor (hint hint)

100thou off the heads no worries , it will be right, did you have to machine the inlet manifold to fit the heads? i'm considering the same to my heads because my stock bottom end need some more comp.

Good question.. did i HAVE to? no, which is why i didnt. We slotted the Manifold bolt holes instead. means the intake mani will bolt up but messes with port alignment.

Captain safety slotting the holes with an ebay die grinder bit.

This is what they end up like.

Should i have? Yes absolutely. Its really all about port matching, if you want your manifold ports to line up with your head ports then get your machinist to sort out the intake while he's there.

A bit of mis alignment can actually be a helpful tool , it'll stir up the fuel mix stuck to the floor
and walls and get it back into the flow stream but we'll leave that there for now .
    I like what I'm seeing 1time nice going !

In all seriousness, I owe you guys a thanks. The fact that you inspired 1Time, to sacrifice money to the car gods, via rituals of inebriated tinkering, is the reason I was able to share with him, the adventure this build has been.

But it was also much more than that, it was also extremely educational. In school I loved Math and Chemistry, I never suspected that cars, would tickle my fancy, in both of those subjects so dramatically, at the same time. Before I met 1Time and his ludicrous friend (now both are best mates), I had roughly half a clue about how internal combustion engines work, now I feel like I could almost slap something together and it might not shoot a piston through the bonnet.

Needless to say I've got the bug and now have my first track car; because I'm a tight arse however, I find it more financially practical to buy a car that already good, because lord knows you never get back what you spend on a new build. That's all I'll say about my build for the moment, I'll do a thread up for sure and drop a link here for anyone who's interested.

Here're some pics of 1Times VH

I have more images to come
    Stay tuned.

Cracking read mate! Such a laugh.

Would love to slap together a shitter one day with bargain parts found on gumtree/eBay/and facebook and take it on an excursion to see how long it lasts. Whether it be a 1/4 mile outing, an autocross attempt, or just swinging nuts on a skid pad.

Will be following this to see where you go with it
    Every build you make,
    Every risk you take,
    Every part you break,
    Every tyre you bake,
    I'll be watching AV8.
