justin the rocker cover gaskets are durapro available from precision, we normally glue the gasket to the rocker cover on most applications but these gaskets have a outer lip that locates on the head and slips off when you try to put the cover on so its a pain to line up again so i just glue them to the head
this engine should be on the dyno next week, a slight change in plan with the tune for this engine, with street/race cars we offer to do a street tune on pump fuel and also a race tune with a race unleaded fuel using the same carb which requires timing and jetting changes but the owner has requested we also dyno this on methanol as well as pump fuel for track use so we now have to carbs to test.
both carbs have a 1.375 venturi and 1.750 blade so it will be interesting to see the comparison from pump fuel to methanol with a relatively low comp ratio for methanol but it should still make better TQ on meth

Black is the new chrome. That engine is stunning -amazing work. I might have missed something, but those Cometic head gaskets look super thick in the valley shots?

Nice carbs Pete depending on the cam choice 550hp + should be accessible!
Nice work !!email@example.com on e85

i dont think we have enough cam and comp to crack 550 on pump fuel but anything close to the last engine we did would be a good result

Is that an open spacer? What is your thinking behind the 2"? I imagine you will run with and without, will you post the difference mate?

the test will show if it likes more plennum vol or not, 4 hole still lifts the carb high enough from the plennum floor but fills in some of the dead areas, prob make a touch more peak with the open and a little more in the middle with the 4 hole

pauly you were correct we didnt even bother with the 4 hole
dyno testing for this engine is complete, this engine has surpassed our requirements by a good portion and i must say i am more than happy with the results for a flat tappet pump fuel 355
also big thanks to gerry cooper for the engine dyno tuning and fitting this in during such a busy time of the year, and for putting up with my persistence...LOL, we did take up quite a bit of gerrys valuable time so thanks again.
final result for pump fuel is 575hp @ 6900 rpm and 475 ft lbs TQ , the meth made more power and TQ but not as much as some may think but this engine doesnt have the comp to maximize meth, due to the fact that dyno testing this engine and tuning it for both pump fuel and methanol cost the owner a good amount of hard earned cash i think its only fair that we let him keep some of those results to himself.
its late so more on this later
