Just to be certain. When you are revving the engine to 3000 rpm and with a timing light. You're seeing 20 degrees on the timing mark?

98 goes stale in a week. Mix race fuel with 91 not that industrial solvent filled 98. My 2c worth.

    Industrial solvent? Please explain!
If that were the case, none of us would have any fuel lines or float bowls left.

Yep Toluene. It's the difference between regular, super and 98. Does about half as good a job as lead did. But double the job on your brain.

Toluene {methylbenzene} is a neurotoxin, I used it and xylene for years with industrial epoxies... Nasty shit...

Even 91 octane fuels have toluene and xylene in them, the low aromatic versions are the worst...

" The main effect of toluene is on the brain and nervous system, exposure to moderate or high levels of toluene also show harmful effects in their liver, kidneys, and lungs and impaired immune function. The largest source of toluene release is during the production, transport, and use of petrol, which contains about 5 to 8 per cent toluene. In remote areas, the concentrations of toluene in air is quite low, however levels from 1.3 to 6.6 ppb are common in suburban and urban areas, with levels as high as 350 ppb in areas of high traffic density.

Concentrations at a petrol station can be as high as 2,400 ppb. Refilling a car can add significantly to daily toluene intake.

Xylene is a compound primarily released from industrial sources and motor vehicle exhausts. In urban and industrialised areas, xylene levels have been measured at up to 178 ppb. Petrol contains 7 to 10 per cent of xylenes."

80's era F1 cars ran virtually pure Toluene at crazy boost levels. Like 70psi in qualifying.
