People carry on about too much spring pressure and lost HP etc with double springs .. When they break you'll lose ALL your HP and TQ and sit on the side of the road ... Good luck

    VERY passionate indeed LOL
I don't dis-agree on the single Vs double'd debate when it comes to simple insurance. However the cam mentioned is a hydraulic cam of 230/230 @ .050 110lsa with about .490" lift max.

Yep I know the cam specs its a 286 LOL

I wont argue with you, go the single springs and when it busts and you have carnage I'll sit back, crack one open with a smug grin on my face and say told you so

There is no real harm in a bit more spring pressure, or more importantly spring rate than what you need as minimum ...

So what double spring would you recommend to suit this cam? And no, I have no problem running a little more pressure then the minimum suggested. In fact, with hydraulic cams it seems to be the new trend in some circles to increase valve spring pressures to stop lifter pump up.

Pull the heads off, see what sort of damage you've done to the seat too ...

Problem is the whingeing you're gonna encounter for wanting dual springs on a small cam and you'll get singles in the end ....

Its all up to you and your budget, changing the springs is a lot easier with the heads off and you can inspect for any damage ...

Or have the springs changed on the car as is, of course the cheap option is just to replace all your springs with ones that are the same ..

Not everyone.... the Crow 5616, 240@.050 is pretty popular around this neck of the woods.

EVL, your choice, if ya can afford doubles do it. if not, get good LT1 type, and it is easier with heads off!
