Default vr 304 error codes program

Can any one give me the name of a program for my laptop and the cable needed to read error codes on my 304/355 vr. Don't have any problems with it but curiosity has gotten me. Am old school (timing light and dwell meter)looking to expand my knowledge base. Is the tune changeable by this method?

Tuning EFI 304 you will first need to put the car into diagnostic mode as the ECU is controlling the timing. From there you can set -10btdc

You can purchase a ALDL to USB adapter from delcohacking.net then download TUNERPRO RT and connect with your laptop.

This will allow you to read fault codes, dash display info, trans info etc. If you want to go another step further you can also purchase a NVRAM and wire in a write line in your ECU. this will allow you to tune your ECU REALTIME and even tune while someone else drives!

    Hope that helps

vist Delcohacking.net pretty much anything you want to know on this site.

If you only want to read the fault codes Google VR fault codes and you should find a site that tells you the wires to bridge and then simply read the codes off the check engine light.
    Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
Heres a site and a link for the codes

thanks nemo, that's handy to have. I want to learn to change the tune real time. Am in no hurry so will do plenty of research first. The info vrssturbo gave was on the money for what I want to achieve. Started reading some info on delcohacking.net today and found it a bit mind boggling to start with but am getting a basic idea. Will get an aldl adaptor soon and learn what i'm looking at first, then get nvram.
