    Yep, sorry, forgot that:

With the block sitting on the valley face (upside down) & looking from the rear of the block they go in at around 8-9 O'clock - allows a good oil wedge before the peak load point.
Others put em in in slightly different spots, but that works for me.

If I forget anything else just let me know, I writing this off the top of my head, not building a holden ATM so it's not all fresh in my mind.

You couldnt get a more complete detailed accurated engine build list guys....

Also if you wanted to just use a shelf cam the little famous Crane F-280 would achieve these goals
Cheers, just out of interest what would you expect to see from this combo on your dyno assuming the pocket port work was good?

Did a rough price up based on a build I did a while back, engine includes:

Complete long engine from carb to sump, harmonic to flexplate.
Also includes K&N air cleaner & cover breathers, 1" open carb spacer, throttle linkage, thermostat housing & high flow thermostat, MSD dissy, ignition box, coil & leads, pacemaker headers, engine dyno run in & tune including cam bed in with inner springs removed, then inner springs fitted & engine bedded, oil & filter change & tuning, with dyno sheet.

Comes to around $17000-$1800 for a bedded in & tuned engine with dyno sheet & everything required to just drop it in the car & go.

TK LOVES baileys, midori and especially VB . . .

Also likes c0cktails with the little umbrellas. I've told him he needs to man it up, but some people you just can't help.

    Shoulda said $20k then LOL.

But nah, it's not a fancy engine, no big $$ headwork, no 4-bolt mains, no roller cam, no megabuck internals - it shouldn't cost any more than $18k unless guys want extra shit done.

Minus headers, ignition system, dyno tune & air cleaner etc it'd be down around the $14k mark, but most guys will need that stuff anyway & an engine dyno run in & tune is a real good idea.

You mentioned top cam retainer plate bolt, what do you do with the lower chain oiler? I have been totally blocking the lower with a head dowel and restricting the retainer bolt down to about .030 or so.

Remind me to sneak a lead off before you go in for tuning ya prick!

I'll only have 1 can of JD left next time, you'll have to cope with a melon vodka cruiser - will go nice with the pink shirt.

I just leave it alone & completely block the bolt.

But each to their own, not at all critical.

Yeah, that'd be good, give people a rough idea of what to expect from a combo like this.

With a bit more comp, larger intake valves & a tad more cam I guess it'd make a little more.

355 Holden VN Silver Accelerator Long Engine (440 HP) for $6285 ? Is it worth getting this and changing some stuff to suit yourself , why are these blokes making 440hp with a HYD stick .
