Good thread guys love that hatch back , will keep an eye on this thread for the 1/4 times .
I've noticed manuals usually put out decent rwhp figures as compared to stalled autos and then theres the dyno +/- 50 rwhp variance anyway what sort of flywheel figure would you be confident stating the engine is producing ?

If I was to state what I would be confident it is making +/-10hp I'd probably get shot down, so I won't.

MPH on sunday should give a pretty good idea & at some point in the future it may well get strapped back on an engine dyno.

Manuals do generally give higher HP reading on a chassis dyno - but they are also much more predictable in drivetrain losses, so you can get a pretty decent idea of what the motor is making at the flywheel wheras with a stalled auto it's pretty much anyones guess. High stalls do wierd things on chassis dynos.

ill have a crack at the flywheel horsepower.
    ****ing heaps.
50 more than my last engine.
    more than enough.
hopefully not enough to break to much **** to often.
hopefully enough to win some ****.

yeh bummer hey,oh well it may give me time to make a new cold air tray that will fit the 2'' spacer under the bonnet and test my race exhaust on bruces dyno.

fast but not real quick, around 120mph &13.1,heaps of wheel spin might have something to do with the fact they didnt even let us do a burnout of any sort to warm the tyres.it spun just trying to roll out the hole, spun into second & third.wont be going back there until they get the burnout issue sorted.this car did 13.0 @105mph 7 years ago with a 300hp 308 at A.I.R..it will be at collingrove next weekend for the s.a hillclimb champs.

Why are we calling this a mains priority system when it still feeds the cam bearing first , wouldn't it still suffer then same problems as a standard holden oiling system if the cam and cam bearing clearances were not set right , I've brought this up because i genuinely don't understand what gain is made from it , i do appreciate the level of work involved from the machinist but its made me stop and think, i don't mean to offend anyone with this post well i hope it won't.

    Priority mains looks like this..

Right now i'm even more confused , is it possible to to do a priority main conversion to a holden v8 so the crank bearings get the oil 1st and not have to feed thru the cam bearings ? can u do what is done in the above to a holden v8?

the main thing is, that the lifters are getting feed last (big let down of the factory oiling system)

yes the way this motor has been done is feeding the cam bearing 1st then the mains and big ends, but there is proably no other way of getting the oil down to the mains 1st then the cam bearings.

ffsuc, i gues the only way to know if it can be done is to actually cut a block to see where you can and carnt drill.

but i do know of one holden motor thats running a priorty mains conversion and that motor is still goin strong after so many burnout comps around australia.

GBH355 good point but the issue being keeping the oil in the lower half where it paramount!
feeding the rocker covers and the oil not returning plauges this engine when lent on!
    thus being the main issue!
spec for those that cuircut race!

or for those hoons that do big fkn skids!lol

My setup uses a custom sump and pickup, restrictor hydraulic lifters and restrictor push rods. I can see no evidence of over oiling the top end even after putting it through plenty of demanding circuit work.
